Art Oppportunities Blog

Hey there!

I'm not sure how many of you already know about this, but I run a blog that is especially dedicated to archiving calls for submissions and job postings for the arts community. No filler! Updated several times a week, too!

I started this blog as a way to archive all of the interesting opportunities I was considering applying for, but then I realized that I was sitting on a goldmine of information that my friends would probably really benefit from seeing, too!

So, check it out here:

Please leave comments if you like what you see!

Guidewire Performances

So, I suppose this would be a little self promotion. I'll be putting on two performances in the next few weeks. There will be a show coming up on March the 31st at Neutral Ground art gallery in the Scarth St. Mall here in Regina. It'll be a 6 speaker digital audio performance involving various audio manipulation tricks and clicks.
The show starts at 8pm sharp.
$5 to be witness.

April the 5th.
in The Club @ The Exchange
Pay what you can.
Me and some electronics.
A fun time of glitchiness.

If you are curious in hearing a small selection of my tunes that may or may not show up in the performances. Check out..amiestreet

Snappy Dresser

Snappy Dress on flickr

Here is an artist I found on flickr recently. I believe he's from Saskatoon and his main focus seems to be on street art. Good stuff and I hope to find some of his stuff next time I'm in the Toon Town.

VJ clips made in Max/Jitter

Hi there!

I've been really excited by the work I've been doing lately with creating silent video clips for VJing, using Max/MSP/Jitter. If you're curious, I have a YouTube page where I will be posting some of them:

Here's a few samples to give you an idea:

Musings on Gallery Admission Fees

Saskatoon-based artist Ed Pas has been doing some very interesting writing about the status of the City's involvement with the proposed Mendel Art Gallery expansions and how art gallery admission fees might intersect with this. Ed also does a lot of great writing about the arts in general - his blog is worth checking up on regularly to catch some juicy scoops and takes!

Neon Tetra

Neon Tetra is a talented producer from Regina Saskatchewan. His form of electronic music floats around that of Ontario's Caribou, Fourtet and Boards of Canada. I think his album "Home" came out some time last year and I think it probably hasn't been heard enough.
